Academics

Living Stone Christian Academy offers Pre K 3 - 12 grade IN PERSON. We offer traditional school classes on a beautiful, safe campus. We are excited to offer diversity to our community and the many outstanding families of the RGV.

​

Pre-K through 6th Grade: Abeka Curriculum

Abeka Curriculum: provides a strong foundation in academics and character development. Each grade level incorporates traditional study books. 

​

1.  Language Arts:

    â—‹ Phonics, reading, handwriting, grammar, composition, and spelling.

    â—‹ Literature appropriate for each grade level.

​

2. Mathematics:

    â—‹ Concepts include arithmetic, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

    â—‹ Advanced topics are introduced incrementally.

​

3. Science:

     â—‹ Studies on God’s creation with hands-on activities and experiments.

     â—‹ Earth science, biology, physics, and health (age-appropriate).

​

4. Social Studies:

    â—‹ History, geography, civics, and cultural studies with a biblical worldview.

​

5. Enrichment:

    â—‹ Art, music, physical education, and computer literacy.

​

6. Physical Education: Learning how the body operates and helping the body heal through nutrition and exercise according to the student's grade level.

​

Electives: Computer Lab with educational games, sign language, community outreach, arts, crafts, music, and Bible. (All electives are optional and not mandatory.)

​

 

7th through 12th Grade: Ignitia Online Curriculum (Alpha and Omega, Modified by Horizon) We have a full operating junior high and high school with on-campus classes and a face-to-face teacher. Each student will need to bring a Chromebook or laptop of their preference to school every day. Living Stone Christian Academy also offers tutoring services to all students registered for further educational needs.

IGNITIA Curriculum: published through Alpha and Omega provides a flexible, online platform tailored to meet Texas educational standards.

 

1. Core Subjects:

   

    â—‹ English/Language Arts: Grammar, composition, literature, and research skills.

    â—‹ Mathematics: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and Consumer                  Math.

    â—‹ Science: Life Science, Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

    â—‹ Social Studies: Texas History, U.S. History, World History, Government, and                              Economics.

     Physical Education is offered online as an elective course or in person.

2. Electives and Career Readiness:

    â—‹ Options include Health, Spanish, Computer Applications, Accounting, Career                        Explorations, Home & Financial Economics, Communication, Music Appreciation,                Art, and Ethics.

    â—‹ Advanced Placement (AP) or college preparatory courses are available.

 

3. Character Development and Life Skills:

    â—‹ Ethics, communication, leadership, stewardship, and community outreaches

 

4. Monitoring and Modification:

     â—‹ Course content is adjusted using Horizon- Alpha Omega Publications modifications           and government-approved materials to ensure compliance with Texas educational             standards.
